I’m having some problems with the navigation on my iPhone 6.
When I select my phone as source and click that list symbol (the three lines on the upper right side), the “overview” opens and I can select the source again on the upper left side. That’s perfect. But when I’m inside some folders and click that list symbol the “overview” opens but I can not select my source. That means, when I want to change the source from my phone to my server I first have to navigate back through all the folders and then select the source e.g. on my phone I navigated to Series -> Daredevil -> Season 01 -> Episode 06 but now I want to go to my music stored on my server. The fast way would be click that list symbol, overview opens and I change the source. But in reality I first have to go back from the Episode to Season 01, from Season 01 to Daredevil, from Daredevil to Series, from Series to Home and then I can change my source. So is this kind of complicated navigation a bug or a feature?
I’m not sure if a post with this already exists, haven’t found anything but maybe I searched for the wrong keywords.
I already removed and reinstalled the app without any improvements.
Hey, sorry you haven’t gotten an answer. I don’t have an iPhone but on my Android phone which has a similar UI, from most pages, there is a 3 vertical dot icon at the top right with a Home option.
Okay I made some screenshots, maybe that makes it more clear
First I can choose between local and server.
After I select my server I see this:
When I click that vertical dot icon I see my home screen:
On that screen you can still choose between local and server, okay so far.
BUT, when I navigate to e.g. Playlists
And then click the 3 vertical dots to get back to my home screen, I can’t choose anymore between local and my server and that’s the point that makes it complicated.
When I click home (upper left corner) in my playlist folder I see all folders from my server and there I can select again between local and server but that way makes it very complicated when I navigated form TV Series to Daredevil to Season 01 to Episode 01.
Oh. That last screen shot looks like a bug. I believe there should be a server picker just like the other screen shot. Let me pass this along and see if I can confirm the bug.
I just found out that this behavior is intentional. While navigating, it is not intended that you should switch servers. You need to go home first then you can switch. If you think this is undesirable, please make a feature request and we’ll see how others feel.
