Plex on QNAP Stops Unexpectedly

Server Version#:4.5.4.1800
Player Version#:4.63.0

The server stops unexpectedly and the icon/shortcut disappears from the start/homepage. This happens randomly, but occurs every day several times. At each event I have to stop and restart the app to get the server back. As you can imagine this is very annoying. Any advice?

can you check your server version - I don’t recognise it.

Current (as of 5-Oct-2021) is 1.24.3.5033

…and the associated Plex web player is v4.66.1

The Plex version is actually 1.23.4. The other one I quoted was for Win 10…sorry!

…do you want to try installing 1.24.3 first to see if it fixes your problem - there have been several updates since 1.23.4

I always download and install the latest version that is made available to me (Notification).
The latest was 1.23.4.4805. Pls see the download file attached.
When I installed that version manually, the Icon indicated version 1.24.3. Pls see attached.
Nowhere do I see a file called version 1.24.3.xxxx. I always used the Plex notifications as my source.

Also, I just found someone who has the same issue on the forum (didn’t mean to duplicate). So far it doesn’t appear to be resolved.

Two very strange things happened over the last 2 days;

  1. The NAS died…wouldn’t boot and no lights! A friend suggested replacing the memory. I had a spare set, so I did. It worked. RMA to Kingston in process.
  2. Searched for Plex for QNAP Ver 1.24.3.5033. Found and installed. Seems fine now.
