Plex on Samsung and LG Smart TV become slow and lagging interface

Any update?

The tv app is still slow.

I’m starting to consider just buying an Apple TV and ignore the native tv app but that would not have my preference (I prefer having one remote).

I’ve done it, I got an Apple TV.

I should have done it sooner. I don’t wanna jinx it because it’s only been a day, but it’s so much smoother.

Seeking within a video doesn’t cause everything to go out of sync or crash, I can change subtitle tracks without crossing my fingers, there are subtitles and audio delay controls, it doesn’t take 20 minutes to navigate to a song, I can even trigger a library rescan. it’s ridiculous. If you’re a heavy user, do it.

Re: remote control, it can learn your TV remote and it even learned my old stereo amp (It did take a remote restart for anyone trying to follow).

I’m not angry anymore. It’s clear where their resources went. They’re not incompetent. I just wish they stopped bothering and removed the dysfunctional Samsung app so I had to look for an alternative sooner.

How is the quality? I bought the shield and I immediately noticed a drop in quality. So the client also can effect the quality. I mean it was still good but not as good when I play it directly from the SmartTV app.

Quality looks the same, the output is configurable so that could help (forcing SDR, 50/60hz, RGB/YCbCr/Chroma subsampling)

my plex app has been rendered unusable. It just infinitely loads when starting a video. I have to screen share my phone now…
