This has been going on for about about 3 months. When trying to play FLAC content from my server on Shield TV the android app instantly crashes to the home screen. Same behavior is present on both of my Shield TV’s. Plex on my phone and Plexamp both work. Plex Web player also works without issue.
Anyone else running into issues? Flac had been working for years, but now there is a problem.
mine doesn’t crash, just plays it back as stereo PCM 48 kHz regardless of the source, though I bet it’s related. In the settings on your app, you should be able to enable network logging and access the logs of the app. You should turn that on, open the logs in your browser, and then save them and upload them. And it seems like the only way to get the plex devs to take any of this seriously is to get a bunch of people onboard and to yell about it.
