Plex On Synology

Server Version#:1.14.1.5488
Player Version#:3.77.4

I own a Synology DS1815 and have Plex Server installed. When I play 1080P quality videos it drives the CPU up to 100% and causes the loading to appear which causes the Plex playback to stop till loading is complete. I am running everything on my internal network so speed is not an issue. Both computer and Synology are on the same switch. I have tried several other players and the same result. If I watch plex to my Roku and Apple TV they also do the same thing. 720P and below videos seem to play just fine. I contacted Synology and they tell me my box is running just fine and have determined the transcoder in the Plex server is the issue.

Go to the piece you just tried to play.

Hover over it. Click the Ellipsis then Get Info.
When that comes up “View XML”.

Copy and Paste from the top down to where the stream information ends.

Highlight it and surround it with 3 backticks ( ` character) so it will be seen.
That will tell us what PMS was looking at.

Also, Try to play it. Let it play 10 seconds,
Stop Playback, wait 30 seconds
Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs

Attach that ZIP file with the Media XML above and I can tell you exactly what PMS was doing.

(I also have a DS1815+ and it cannot do any video transcoding)
