Plex on XBOX 360 can't find my Plex Media Server

I just installed Plex on my XBOX 360 last night, connected it to my account, and it can see that my PMS exists, but it says it can't connect to it.  My PMS is running 0.9.11.1.678-C48FFD2, and is accessible from my HTPC, iPhone, and Roku, which are all on the same network as my XBOX 360... don't really know where to begin troubleshooting?

Thanks in advance!

Please post in the correct section for the 360 help: https://forums.plex.tv/forum/150-plex-for-xbox-360/

Is your server connected to plex.tv as this is a requirement for both of the xbox application? To check:

  1. Go to Settings -> Server -> Connect
  2. You should have 2 green check marks saying you are connected.

Can you iphone see your server while on cellular? Just being on the same network doesn't mean the xbox will work due to the above.

I didn't realize that there was a forum for this in the plexpass section - I looked over all the clients in the open forums and didn't find one there, so posted in this, "other" forum. Thanks, I guess I'll repost there.

My PMS is connected. When I look at https://plex.tv/servers, it is green.  I never stream PMS content to any device not connected directly to my home network, because my home Internet's upstream speed is way too slow, but I just tested playing something back from an external network, and it studdered along, so the connectivity is there, just not the speed.

I had this problem last night, i fixed it by doing the following:

Log in as normal, to receive the error.

Now log out and log in using the other method to what you first logged in with, i logged in first with Username and Password, when i logged back in using the Code and it worked, i think the reverse will also work.

Thanks,

I had a similar issue - Xbox 360 and PLEX on 2 servers - a Synology NAS and OS X Yosemite. Servers work fine on all other devices on the network - wired and WiFi.

Xbox 360 could not connect to either server and marked them as 'unavailable' although it 'saw' them in the settings screen on Xbox.

Resolved the issue by workaround - connected my Xbox to the wired network and no problems since then.

Seems to be an issue with my servers being on my wired network and the Xbox in WiFi - although via the same router and subnet. Still not sure what was blocking the connection - as above - other WiFi clients worked fine.
