All of a sudden nothing will direct play on my XB1. Everything is transcoding on my PC and causing the CPU to hit 100% usage. It was working fine a few minutes ago! Anyone else experiencing this?
And just like that, it is working again. Not sure what the deal was as I didn’t do anything.
i believe the file also needs to be compatible for direct play. if its not, you need to optimize it. otherwise it needs to be transcoded.
If a device does not support the audio or video type. then it cannot be played directly.
I think this issue is made by the activation of the subtitles. Make sure which of your movies have forced subtitle tracks, and disable them.
When subtitles are activated, the movie is transcoded instead of playing in “DirectPlay” mode. Xbox one plex client does not supoort subtitles without “burning” them in the movie.
I had the same problem, and that was the cause.
