Good afternoon. How can Plex settings make the Plex client connect to Plex only via an external IP address when it is inside the local network? Thanks

What you ask isn’t possible per se because of the port-forwarding needed from the modem/router to the Synology.
The Synology lives on the LAN.
The modem/router accesses it via its LAN side.
If you block the LAN, you also block the modem/router forwarding to it for remote.
The only possibility is to put it on a different subnet segment than the main LAN subnet. Once on that new subnet, normal LAN detection prevented (broadcast packets do not cross subnet boundaries).
Doing so means DSM administration becomes more difficult as well because the Syno is not on the same subnet.
You will also need a special configuration for the modem/router to address both subnets (not all can)
