I run my home theatre system from a standard PC. My previous PC had a video card crash and it was cheaper to purchase an inexpensive PC than to purchase a video card.
The issue is that when I run OTA programming the English channel comes in as a 5.1 Audio Stream and it hangs the system - I just get a spinning circle and occasionally a few minutes of good audio and video before a notification appears informing me that the session has ended. If I switch to the Secondary Audio channel, the image and Audio (Stereo) instantly appear. The problem is then that I do not want to listen with the additional audio descriptions or in Spanish. So, I’ve isolated the problem in the audio processing of the 5.1 channel.
If I try to stream the OTA on a cell phone or tablet, I have no issues. The internal DVR, however, suffers from the same fate as watching live - and cuts short recording IF it ever starts.
I’m trying to determine if the problem is in my video card or my audio card or in Plex itself or something else entirely.
