Hello,
First of all congrats on a fantastic product. Recently I got myself a lifetime PlexPass.
This is my situation:
Until I got PlexPass, me and my wife (two different plex accounts) were accessing Plex.
So when I got the PlexPass, and because I wanted my wife to have the full functionality on her phone and tablet,
I logged her out of her normal plex account, added her as a plex home/managed user, and then logged her in (on the mobile)
with my account (so she can tap her home/managed username, put her pin and be able to watch full movies etc there)
I also did the same on the kids tablet (they have their own restricted plex home managed account).
I’m wondering if this is the right way to go about with this. Because now I have my wife as normal invited user AND as a managed one.
Another question:
Since she does not login to the app with her normal plex account will mobile upload functionality work for her?
Regards
Vassilis
You can certainly continue to work that way. You made your wife into a ‘managed user’.
But it would’ve been easier to just invite your wife’s full plex account into your Plex Home.
This will retain all her ‘watched’ history. And she’ll be able to get the goodies of your Plex Pass as well.
Just how Homer did with Marge in this example: https://support.plex.tv/articles/204234313-example-plex-home-setup/
Will she be able to enable camera upload from her phone and tablet this way?
On the link you sent me, I noticed that in marge’s restrictions page (check the screenshot), enable camera upload is not there…
Those are older screenshots. You can enable Camera Upload for managed users.
Great. It works perfectlly, thanx.
One more thing,
How do I remove photos and videos that have finished uploading, from phone safely?
There isn’t a way from Plex to do that. You’ll just have to delete them manually.
Hope its one way sync and does not propagate deletions…
Can you manage the folders plex app looks for media on your phone/tablet?

Yes. Once uploaded to your PMS, you will have to use PMS to delete them from your PMS storage.

No. The app will only look in your camera roll. You cannot upload images from other apps.
