If, for some reason I want to switch my friend to home - if he decides to run a mobile app, now that he’s a registered guest (and working fine, thanks) can I switch him to a managed user without his involvement?
you would add him to home, he would still get the prompt to accept it.
I can only assume this is required because someone may have an existing home that you are not aware of, and you can only belong to one home at a time.
Additionally If an admin of a home, joins someone elses home, then that admins home gets lost.
To be honest, plex should never allow someone to be invited to a home, if they are already part of a home.
They should enforce that a user must explicitly leave their existing home, before they can accept another home invite.
It is what it is, I guess… I can warn him so ‘the shock’ won’t take him out…lol
I just spent an hour on the phone during ‘the pinning’ and initial settings process… and to our amazement, things just work for some reason… I’d hate to mess that up.
(I may tell him to buy his own app, if he has a need for it)
