Hi Guys, im new to plex but so far i love it. Ive made my library and everythings working great. Im wanting to share with family members. If I pay the lifetime membership fee of 150 will all my family members be able to use it? or do they also have to have plex pass to see mine. next question, i use a mycloud home as my server. how many different accounts and devices can stream simultaneously? im hoping its unlimited. thanks guys let me know
If all you need is to share your Plex libraries then you do not need Plex Pass at all. Some apps will require a one time fee to unlock (usually about $5.00) but the sharing does not incur any extra expense.
The number of streams is related to transcoding vs direct play. Direct play would only be limited by your upload bandwidth but for transcoding Plex says the the processor in your server needs a 2000 Passmark for each 1080p stream.
The people you share with do not need a Plex Pass at all.
Your MyCloud as a server probably will not cut it.
Look for more CPU power.
