I love Plex and I have just started using Plex remotely. Looking at Plex pass features I find that I would not use all but one of them which is allowing an additional user access to my media but, that doesn’t seem to be worth the fee that is being asked. I’d rather by that single feature is the add-on preferably lifetime for Life’s a $20 so I could allow another user access and maybe a small incremental charge for having 2 3 4 5 users
You don’t need a Plex Pass to share with Friends.
The feature you’re referring to is called “Plex Home”. Plex Home works similarly to sharing but it’s focusing on managed accounts for family members (e.g. if you don’t want to create own accounts for your kids who could then go off doing their own “thing”).

Thank you for that. I was under the impression that you needed the pass to allow friends to access your media. Not sure where I got that assumption. I swear I saw it in some of the plex pass literature, and I’m sure I read it somewhere in post on the forum - which does not mean I read it right or that person had their facts correct. Very helpful you have been.
