Can anyone explains Plex Pass vs Remote Watch Pass…all i need is for ONE friend to have access…who needs remote watch pass…me (the server) or Him the buddy i’m giving access to?
You have an active Plex Pass so folks accessing your server remotely do not need any subscription for remote playback of video content from your server.
If you as the server admin did not have an active Plex Pass, anyone (including yourself) who wanted to play video remotely from your server would need at minumum a Remote Watch Pass of their own.
Thanx but a little confusing…why would I the server need a remote pass…i’ve never needed one up to this point to watch Plex on my PS4?
You only need a pass of any sort if you are watching away from home. If your PS4 in at your house where your Plex server is it should not be prompting you for any sort of Pass for access.
you already have a Plex Pass so you don’t need one. ( unless you let it expire)
I was just explaining what would happen if you didn’t have one. it is also only if playing remotely. if your PS4 is on same local network as your server then you don’t need one to play locally.
Thats what i thought…i personally do NOT watch remotely…so only my Buddy (who i give access to) has to sign up for Remote Watch pass?
