I see the only other pervious topic for this is closed
But I have found mentions of this in the release notes of Shield Experience 8.2
Plex playback of 96khz/192khz TrueHD or DTS-MA audio leads to audio drops. SHIELD Experience release 8.2 has resolved a few issues with 96/192 Khz TrueHD/DTS-MA playback but Plex still has work to do on the App side to resolve this issue. These files generally work fine in Kodi or the built in Gallery app as a temporary solution while Plex is fixed
Is there any progress on this? I got my first Blu-ray with this audio format and have three more on the way and in the current state are unwatchable via Plex due to the audio dropouts. As said in the release notes they play back fine in Kodi and with the release of Kodi 19 I can no longer get the Plex app to work anymore.
Are there plans to address this as it been 7 months since this release?
I am having the same issue with the TrueHD 96khz track on My Fair Lady (1964) 4K remux as well. Client is on Shield Pro 2019 (version 8.18.0.25559-beta) which is connected to a Denon X3700H receiver.
I tested The Police: Certifiable (2008 concert) which also has 96khz TrueHD track. Same issue in the Plex Player. The same file plays fine in Kodi with Plex plug-in. Perhaps, the issue is with ExoPlayer?
I can confirm the same with My Fair Lady and Plex on my 2019 Shield. I installed Kodi 19 and MrMC and both played my MKV backup without the audio dropouts. Hope Nvidia or Plex gets this sorted at some point.
