Plex Player 1.6.3 nor 1.6.5 will open

Server Version#: 4.22.3
Player Version#: 1.6.5 or 1.6.3

Have no problem connecting to plex server web. Started in last week. Have uninstalled 1.6.5 reboot then reinstall 1.6.3 as well. Ran the vc_redist.x64.exe in installed plex directory as administrator and it tells me a newer version is installed. When you launch plex player via shortcut or run as admin it won’t launch. The application error log contains:

I had the same issue with 1.6.3 and 1.6.5.
For me, it helped deleting the “Plex” application data folder:

You find the folder here:
C:\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Plex

Afterwards, Plex did start again.
Deleting this folder will reset your Plex userprofile, so you will need to log into Plex again.
