I’m having an issue on FireTv4K sticks. If I’m in Music and select a folder or album with files that don’t have an embedded cover art image, the client exits back to OS (fireTV) home screen. Most of my files have an image and play fine, but many don’t and they won’t play through firestick. I edited and added cover art to a couple problem folders and they now play fine. All files are FLAC. All folders are set up as Artist/album/tracks. They all play through the web interface on PC, and through KODI on firestick. It’s just the Plex player that goes away.
Anyone have a suggestion?

I have the same issue. I’ve uploaded several audiobooks and if the album cover is not present a fire-tv and fire-tv cube will exit plex after a pause. I’ve made a habit of adding album art as a workaround. I’ve only tried this with .flac files.
Well at least I’m not crazy… Started using Kodi as the music player because of it and that is a good workaround. Would rather it all be in Plex now though.
I have an Nvidia Shield TV pro and the same thing happens with me. 95% of my music library is unplayable (everything is flac) and crash the plex app.
it seems that the playable ones all have album covers.
edit: forgot to mention plex client works great on my phone and all my music library works.
edit2: It looks like the resolution/refresh rate the base device sets for the TV (in my case shield TV pro) is the reason Plex crashes with some music tracks. mine was set by default to 4k@59hz, when I changed it to 60hz or 30hz at 1080p or 4k it fixed the main problem. There are still issues with reading some flac files and categorizing loose tracks in the source folder.
