I am trying to get a couple exercise videos to stream to a TV in my workout room.
I ripped the MKV file, and it streams fine, but there are 5 days (chapters) of exercises combined in one track.
With the Plex Web player I can Alt+arrow to jump between chapters. (I can also do this if I play the MKV directly in the “V” player.
But when I play the MKV using Fire TV 4k and use a voice command to “Skip” or “play next” I am told that that function is not available. And I see no controls to support chapter skip on the remote.
I am thinking about figuring out how to split the MKV into 5 tracks, but I’d rather have one track that supports chapters.
(If I put 5 tracks (tk1 .. tk5) in a folder, will the Fire TV 4K player present the folder as a movie, then let me select the track?)
Obviously, I am new to this stuff…
Suggestions on how I should proceed?
Thanks!
Press the bottom of the ring on the remote control twice. You should see the chapters listed. Select the desired chapter.
Also, press the top of the ring to bring up the progress bar. Press a second time to move navigation control to the progress bar. You’ll see a dot on the bar showing playback location. Use right/left sides of ring to move forward/back. This moves you forward/back faster than the normal 30 sec / 10 sec.
Thank you for that input.
I spent hours today Googling and reading and watching YouTube videos and found nothing telling me how to advance through chapters with Fire TV 4K.
Cheers!
