Plex Player hangs when I click play. Directory shows all the newly added shows

Player Version#: 8.22.0.27533 (bdaff3f3)

Background: I have downloaded shows as late as yesterday to my PC where the server runs. When I look at Plex player on my android device I see the newly added shows are there so the player is getting info from the server.

Problem: When I click play on any media I have added on the server the screen shows a blurry version of the thumbnail and the circular arrow spins endlessly (never plays the show).

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. I checked the speed and I’m getting 45Mbs DL so that’s good.
  2. I deleted and reinstalled Plex to ensure I have the most recent version.
  3. I downloaded Plex on my phone and it plays find so the problem is definitely on the android tv.
    Up until last week it was working fine.

Any suggestions on what else I can try?

Iv been having a similar issue but only on some media.
It works when i lower the quality to force it to transcode but when set to original quality a lot of my media does what you are decribing.
Also a new symptom for me as its been working fine the past few years until the last week or two.
