Hmm, my crash seems different than this. The app just crashes instantly to the iOS home screen, no black screen or hang.
I am trying a free trial of Infuse 6 (video app that supports plex server) without crashing with direct stream. So I don’t think the issue is in the video file, network or plex server.

Unless you were able to get me the crash report (not the logs) I think the only possible thing is that I reproduce the issue myself, but I haven’t so far, everything works fine for me 
Do you have any other iOS or tvOS device you can try? I’m curious to know if there are any differences or if all have the crash for you.
If Plex doesn’t see its shutdown as a crash, I (and others with the same issue) can’t give a crash log and for now, it seems like Plex doesn’t see it as a crash.
It still happens with the latest versions of the Server & Player.
I have the same issue. I use the Plex app on my iPad and after playing for a while it will randomly close the app and go to the home screen. Usually it is after watching for several hours, but sometimes it occurs more frequently.
This is very frustrating. At this point Plex is worthless to me since I only use it on my iPad and it’s been months with no fix. Anybody have ideas on a Plex-similar software that works better?
@sergiou87 I have this Ipad crash too but since 2 or 3 weeks now i kill the app before i use it and crash have gone. As i have say in another thread, it’s a growing memory issue.
I use my ipad only for Plex and Plex app don’t get killed by the system since i don’t run another app who need the memory space. It would be nice to know if other users use the Ipad only for Plex or use very few other app.
Maybe the best way is to ask if user see the home screen or if it resume when they start Plex. I can bet every users with crash see Plex resume on last screen used.
@ohboy710 maybe infuse, i don’t have try but if Plex don’t fix it maybe i’ll test and pay this other app if Plex don’t move.

I am suffering the same crashes on my ipad air (1st generation) with the latest plex app version and the latest iOS version to this ipad (ipados 12.4.6).
I am watching that the problems started in november 2019, and actually the problem doesn’t fix it yet.
I haven’t got this problem with my iPhone 7 Plus with the latest iOS version 13.4.1.
I am going to still waiting a solution, because it’s very frustrating

Yes, not the best way to get me as paid customer. Why would I pay for a Plex Pass if I can’t even use iOS devices. You think they would fix this asap.
