Server Version#: v1.18.1.1973-0f4abfbcc - QNAP TS-451 x86_64
Player Version#: Latest Android TV version
Hi All! Brand new Plex user. I have an Nvidia Shield TV 2017 and decided to install Plex Server on my NAS to try things out. I have a big library of music that took days to scan (over 1000 albums), but it is finally done! Sadly I started encountering problems with music playback right away on my Android TV.
Problem: If I go to the Artist view, select an artist, then an album, the Plex Logo pops up and I am dumped back to the home screen. Same thing happens if I use Google Assistant to find an artist. I say “Man With A Mission”, it finds the artist, but when I click the icon, back to the home screen. I’ve been loving the voice command feature, so I am bummed out it isn’t working correctly as well.
What works: If I select an album from recently added music, go to album view and select an album, or use folder view, music playback works just fine.
Any help would be appreciated. If I need to post logs, which ones? I downloaded the log files, but it is 6.5mb of logs.
Hey welcome to Plex. PMS on QNAP runs well, but people running Android players come here frequently, especially mobile. Your options are to work around these problems or try to help Plex solve them by being a Plex Pass user who tests the beta PMS versions.
It sounds like you’re using the NVIDIA Shield with the Plex Player app on that, am I correct? Can you get the exact Player version number from it please?
In general the Shield is highly regarded here, but I don’t own one. Are there and model or version details about it you can get us?
Are all these devices connected via wire?
You asked about logs. The short answer is you zip up what it gave you and drop it in the compose window. The size isn’t an issue then.
