I have this issue when streaming over the internet using any kind of Plex player will restart playback of any media to the beginning when original quality is selected. It becomes a big issue when selecting resume media if original quality was selected before resuming it restarts the playback. I also cannot skip ahead further than what has loaded/buffered.
This isn’t an issue if I use Plex web in the browser over the internet, transcoding the quality or using a Plex player while streaming locally. I would prefer not to transcode as my hardware can struggle with transcoding.
It doesn’t appear to be an issue with the Plex server version I am using as it’s been happening for several versions. My Plex server is on the latest version at the moment. I host it on linux using a docker container with the config and library locations mounted.
Any ideas what could be causing this or where to start looking.
