For the love of all that is holy, fix Plex Web!

This change was made to Plex Web recently:

Added fallback to auto adjust quality when media cannot be played at full quality

■■■■. That. Why is Plex making it harder and harder to watch my content at original quality? If you click “Maximum” it FORCES it to automatic which does a HORRIBLE job. I’m talking random dips of 480p on wired ethernet 2 feet from the god damn server.

Please. Revert. This. Change. At the very least, respect my decision to stream at maximum on my god damn LAN. (WAN is fine too, I have gigabit for God’s sake, stop ■■■■■■■ up my streaming.)

Edit: And don’t even try to blame my network. I’ve streamed 4K at over 80Mbps bitrate with zero issues just fine both locally and externally. This is a Plex Web issue. It’s an awful change and I can’t imagine why this was made.

I apologize for all of the language, but this is some insanely frustrating ■■■■. I just want to enjoy my media without Plex slapping me in the face.

You’re trying to watch on Plexweb stuff you should be watching on Plex Media Player.
Plexweb runs in your browser.
Plex Media Player is a powerful Player app.

I’ll agree that Plex is bound and determined to cause unnecessary transcoding with their poorly written, poorly worded, over-the-top, auto-pilot quality ‘features’… but at least do try to use the right tool for the job at hand…
When that fails - carry on. I enjoy a good rant as much as the next guy…

A bit annoying to install an application, but whatever. If it works, it works. Thanks!

Still hope they revert that awful change from Plex Web, regardless.
