Since this Plex player version (and possibly since less recent ones) videos get scaled using point resize, making them horrendously looking, pixelated, if they’re less wide than the native screen width of 1920 pixels. 720p videos are ugly and unwatchable. It’s usually a rendering problem where the application selects the wrong method for displaying video frame content but I haven’t found any setting in PP in relation to that. Other players like MPC-HC continue to work and scale perfectly. The issue is only with Plex Player. I can provide more info if required.
EDIT: I’ve checked the web based Plex player, that one doesn’t have this issue. Note that I’m using the interface of the native player that looks exactly like the web based player (I don’t know the name of that GUI, sorry).
Thanks, it seems to have fixed it. I see a lot of new settings in TV mode, but for my needs on this PC the desktop interface is a lot more convenient. Why aren’t those settings visible in desktop mode?
PMP combines two interfaces which come from 2 different Plex clients:
The ‘tv’ mode uses the ‘10-foot’ interface of the Plex smart tv app.
The ‘desktop’ mode simply uses the Plex web app.
There is currently no way to build the preferences section into both user interfaces, so that it remains maintainable in an economic way.
