I looked around and didn’t see anything on this, so thought I would ask. Is there any work going on for scaling in UW’s? I have the 1440p Awesome G9 49" beast. Monitor is amazing, but in the Windows 10 Desktop app, I get large bars top and bottom of the screen with viewing. While this is minor in the grand scheme, it would be nice for the play to notice, “Hey, we can scale this vid up and won’t have to stretch it out or mess with scaling” Shows and Movies could be just that much nicer on this beast. Or is this maybe in the system now and I just have something not setup right? Thanks in advance for reponses.
So, I downloaded PMP, and none of the current setup info, specifically, the MPV config is in the current version. So, none of this info does anything for me. Is there a change to the way this works now?
I’m not aware of any changes in PMP behavior. But I use it on a 16:9 1080p display. In the “Resize video?” thead, user daikar was able to make PMP work on a 21:9 screen using the app settings, not modifying any config files.
If the app settings don’t work, you might be able to create a mpv.conf file to do what you need. See the Advanced Configuration document: Plex Docs -> Plex Media Player -> Advanced Configuration
In the Advanced Config document, mpv.conf section, it links to additional settings on mpv.io: Complete List of Options. Some of the settings in the video section refer to aspect ratio.
