Plex playing indirect mode to remote streaming even though it says fully accesible

Player Version#: 10.18.0.968

Remote players are ALWAYS transcoding to SD. It says fully accessible, I’ve doulbe checked the manual port forwarding is working. At my wits end here. It was working before and seems to have just stopped…

Anything on the client solide that could be blocking some aspect of the connection (e.g. DNS failing to resolve direct connection)?

I’ve tried multiple different clients, from different locations - all the same

Just to double-check… the screenshot from your original post displays the connection as remote (not indirect).
Do you have any restrictions for remote connections on those clients (e.g. Plex remote video quality or some limitation on the mobile OS)?

Not sure there are any other places with restrictions, but I’ve set “maximum” quality on the client, and this is the server setting:

Have you checked the client settings in the Android app, e.g.

  • don’t have Limit Cellular Data activated?
  • are you using a WIFI connection / not a mobile data plan?
