Hi can anyone get my some advice/help while I’m at work and trying to play something on my iPhone the only option I have is original quality or transcode to 480p 2mbps or lower
My server settings say it’s accessible from a remote connection but my iPhone still comes up with the indirect playback message
I’ve tried to port forward and I’m 90% sure it’s correct
Can you connect from a browser using http://12.34.56.78:32400/web/? If no, you don’t have direct access. May be CG-NAT, may be firewalled somewhere, impossible for us to say.
„Indirect“ connections imply there’s an issue with your remote access setup. That can be the configuration inside Plex but it can also be an issue on the host (firewall, network configuration…), your local network and router, or the ISP (in which case it’s usually outside your own control).
Did you already have a look at the related troubleshooting support article?
I think you are encountering the same bug like i do on the ios client (iOS Plex app won't give transcode options above 480p) Try with an android client or the web client, if u can select the desired bitrates there, its just the very annoying ios client bug …
