I have a three disc compilation album ripped by myself into separate FLAC files per track. All of these files have the album artist set to Various Artists and the artist set to the performer of the song. Track and disc numbers are separate fields in the tags, which are managed by foobar2000.
If I rate a song the tracks with the same track number on other discs will also get the same rating. So if I rate track 4 on disc 1, track 4 on disc 2 and 3 will also be rated. The web interface reflects the correct behavior of only changing the rating of the single track, but reloading the page or navigating away and back to it, will reflect the incorrect behavior of the server. This doesn’t seem to affect anything other than Various Artists.
Attached are debug logs of the server rating one song, refreshing the page with F5, and rating the song a second time.
I also have a problem that I haven’t pinned down involving two versions of the same album, in this specific case New Order’s Technique and the deluxe edition, where rating a song in the first album rates the same track in the other album. This is not the only album I have two versions of but I haven’t observed this problem with others, so the parameters of failure are unclear but it’s probably related to the above in some way.
