Just updated to the new Premium Music experience. Everything seems to have gone smoothly. One big complaint so far:
The “Popular Tracks” section can’t seem to differentiate between Studio and Live tracks. I have a ton of artists that I have live albums for. This inevitably means that I end up having multiple tracks of the same title. Previously, to prevent this from happening I had to add [Live] to the end of the live tracks “Track Title” tag and this made it where the Popular Tracks would select the studio albums. This isn’t working anymore and now there are several live album versions of songs that appear under Popular Tracks. I figured this would be handled based on Track + Album match, but apparently it only looks for the track title… and now with this new system it can’t differentiate “Track Name” and “Track Name [Live]”, or just prefer the former over the latter.
Not a huge deal but a little bit annoying as it was way cleaner the other way. Some Live versions are pretty horrible compared to studio either due to poor performance or poor mix, but I enjoy having complete albums so I’ll keep them.
I’m calling this a bug as I believe the Popular Tracks section is INTENDED to show the studio version of the track.
