Plex preventing my synology NAS hard drives to hibernate

Server Version#: 1.16.6.1592
Synology Version#: DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 3

Since the upgrade of plex server to version 1.16.5.1554 (and after 1.16.6.1592) I notice my NAS hard drives did not hibernate anymore. After checking the logs I see that files com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-wal and com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-shm are written every 5 minutes. In the same period I also upgrade to a plex pass. Is it normal that theses files are updated so frequently? Have you notice these things since the upgrade (or linked to the plex pass subscription)?

They never hibernated. The logs are written to at least once per minute.
Plex is always on and always communicating which ends up in the logs.

NAS drives don’t mind this at all. They are designed to run 24/7/365 so this is a “Nothing to worry about, All normal” behavior.

What is strange is that I am using Plex for 4 years and it never prevented my hard drive to hibernate (when not using it of course), I see this behavior only since the last version.

If you turn off ALL the logs, don’t use DVR, and disable all the nightly butler tasks, you can get it to sleep -provided- everything else runs flawlessly. Under normal operation, it never has let it sleep in the 7 years I’ve been using PMS now.

PMS is changing inside. It is being expanded and this will continue.
