Great overview Elan. So many features I didn’t know about, and I love using Plexamp. Recently received an RPi and that’s working great as well.

I also thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial, thanks Elan. Frustratingly though, I’m unable to access a number of the features that look so cool and I’d definitely use.

The only cards I have on my Plexamp Home screen are:

  • Mixes for you
  • Recent plays
  • Recently added in music
  • History

So I don’t have:

  • On this day
  • Recent playlists
  • Stations
  • New releases on Tidal (although reckon that’s because I don’t have a Tidal subscription)
  • Most played in ‘month’

I’ve gone into my music library settings many times to check them and definitely have Sonic Analysis enabled, but just can’t seem to work out what’s wrong. Anyone got any suggestions?

make sure they’re not disabled on the web where you can configure, someone else found he had a few of the sections disabled for some reason.

Make sure your own music library is selected as source in the settings (and not a shared library or Tidal).

Thanks OttoKerner. Yes the music library source is solely that stored on my NAS drive (Synology DS220+) which also has the PMS installed

Thanks Elan. I’m accessing settings through the web (I think!!) but can’t see any specific options for configuring the Plexamp home screen / enabling sections

There is only a global setting which affects the home page of all clients.
Settings -Server - Manage - Libraries

One other odd thing Elan is when I do a manual scan of my music library, when it reaches the Sonic Analysing point, it only appears to be analysing seven (7) albums - rather than the 6508 albums I have in my library!

More specifically go to:

Settings → Server(Your Server) → Manage → Libraries → (Your Music Library) → Manage Recommendations

You can select /deselect various ‘recommendations’ and reorder them.

But according to Elan, not all recommendations are currently supported by Plexamp yet.

Oh geezo mikesul, I’m so thick :woozy_face: I thought those recommendations options only applied to the home screen on the server app desktop, as I only ever use the ‘library’ tab. I never thought at all about the selected options pulling through to Plexamp - which I can now see they do. So I’ve learnt even more about Plex this week
