I’ve got a home server running Plex Server that hosts my content. Me and my gf then use our phones (android, plex app) and chromecast to play the files on our not-so-smart TV’s.
Both of us, on both of our TVs, run into an issue sometimes where when the server needs to transcode the content it takes a while to buffer, and so the content will stutter for 5-10 seconds before it plays smoothly (no problem). But the issue is that the plex loading/play screen stays on screen the entire time. Here’s a picture of the UI that just stays on screen indefinitely:
nothing we do helps. Rebooting our phones, our plex server, our TV+chromecast - this just happens quite often and we are forced to watch our content with the Plex UI blocking part of the screen. Just to be clear, the content plays smoothly and there is no other issue (well, the subtitles turn pink for some reason, but whatever).
Is this a bug that needs to be fixed on Plex’ side?
