In the interest of clarity the issue noted below ONLY relates to a Plex installation on a QNap NAS TS 251+.
The installation of the HDHOMERUN CONNECT DVR including the IceTV SETUP token occurred without any problem.
The problem now is when attempting to set up an off-air recording the issue described following occurs - if the TV episode listed in the guide does not include Series and Episode details in the description the record options asks for a “Movie Library” therefore limiting the recording to just that episode/time slot. EG Channel 7 News in Melb Aust.
Recording a series labelled with Sx - Exx behaves correctly.
By way of comparison this error does not occur on a Win10 machine using the same Plex Server version - albeit using an *.exe install file versus a *.qpkg install file for the QNAP NAS.
Any clues from the PLEX Team on how to resolve this will be excitedly appreciated.
I’m also in Melbourne ( ), but I don’t see the same thing with Channel 7 News. In DVR settings, if you scroll down to the bottom, do you have this set up?
The issue does not occur with just 7 News I just used that as an
example. The problem exists when attempting to record any program that
does not have a Series number and Episode number in the description.

Your guide seems to be missing information that mine has. Please refresh your guide, ensure you’re using the latest version of the app at app.plex.tv/desktop, and that your news and sports categories are set up as shown in my earlier screenshot. Here’s my guide for comparison (note all the dates and NEW labels that I have in my guide, which you don’t.
With the inconsistencies relating to the PLEX user interface on my Qnap
NAS installation displaying and behaving differently than my
installation on a WIN 10 laptop and with each displaying a user
interface different to your screen shot, I have now performed a totally
clean PLEX, HDHomerun DVR and IceTV XMLTV (three month free trial
version) guide installation on the Qnap NAS.
I am pleased to advise that the NAS PLEX install is now operating
satisfactorily, albeit with a different looking UI to your screenshot.
FYI: The WIN 10 Plex install has never been a problem operationally.

I’m on Ubuntu 18.04, 1.16.5 (alpha), HDHomeRun Connect Duo, IceTV. However, aside from the PMS version, I’ve had the same setup for a few years now
