I’ve edited/managed the metadata on my NAS with MediaMonkey (MM). MM doesn’t explicitly assign a “genre” to an album, rather it assigns a “genre” to each track in the album. Plex (as far as I can tell) only assigns a “genre” to an album. When Plex reads the local data it doesn’t pick up the “genre” from the tracks and assign it to the album. Is there a way to automate this? Is there a tagging standard that I should comply with? It’s annoying in Plexamp not to be able to search by Genre. Thanks.
