Plex "Recommendations" channel not updating

Server Version#: 1.18.5.2260 (on a linux server)
Player Version#: 7.27.0.15018 (on nvidia shield 2017)

The Plex “Recommendations” android tv channel has been stuck for the last couple weeks. It’s just not updating - in hindsight i realise now that it was stuck for a couple of days initially, and then the thumbnails/previews greyed out, but it still ‘recommends’ shows and movies I have since long watched.

Any ideas on how to sort this out?? Any cache or anything i could clear?
