Plex Recordings are really Choppy

I am using an HDHomerun along with Plex DVR. When I record shows/movies, the recordings comes out choppy. My desktop is used as the plex server. How do I fix this?

You’ll need to share more information before you can get help.

Which HDHomeRun?

What are the hardware specs of your desktop?

Are you using the web player or PMP in TV mode?

What does the video look like in a different player? (e.g. VLC or similar)

HDHR: HDHomeRun Extend
Desktop: Dell Inspiron Intel Core I3
What do you mean by web player or PMP in tv mode? How can I check this?
It is fine when I watch live via Android App, computer, Roku, or Fire Stick. It is choppy only when recordings are played. This happens across all platforms as well as when I open the file directly via Windows Media Player.

Let me know if you need any other information. Thank you for your help.

Small update. Plex recorded a tv show with no issues. For whatever reason when it tried to record a movie it came out choppy… This occurred multiple times…

Hello - not sure if my experience will be useful to you; I had been having all the issues described on this forum regarding errors on recording, pixelation, choppiness, etc. It turns out my ethernet connection was the problem. Once I disconnected the ethernet and used wireless to connect my HDHomerun Extend to my plex server, close to 99% of the problems I had been having disappeared. All my scheduled recordings work perfectly and are crystal clear. The only time I have an issue is when an OTA signal is weak (and choppy or pixelated) to begin with. I am really amazed that (paradoxically) moving from ethernet to wireless solved my problem.
