Plex remote access disconnecting constantly and indirect play when trying to play remotely

Server Version#: 1.21.0.3711
Player Version#:plex web via firefox
I am having an issue where when I try to play a video off my server remotely it will either come up and say that it has to play indirectly or it just won’t play. I remote into my plex server (Linux OS) and look at my settings in the localhost and it says that the plex server is not available remotely. I attempt to retry and it will say that it is connected and sometime it actually is and sometimes it isn’t. I currently have port forwarding setup on my modem to forward all traffic to my server but it still has an issue. This has been happening for the last couple versions that I have installed it just seems to be getting worse. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Here are the logs I just pulled today.

Your logs confirm that internal port 32400 is not reachable.

Is this srerver directly on the internet or is it behind some VM, Container, or firewall?

My modem has a firewall but I setup portforwarding on it.

I just verified my port forward and I must have typed it in wrong because the port was set to 13240. Give me a couple minutes and I will try it remotely

That seemed to work sorry about bothering you. I do have one more question there are times when I am on my home network that I go to cast from my phone or tablet to a chromecast that i get an error saying "Something went wrong - Error code: h4 (Not Supported). I close the video I am trying to play and then reopen the video and it works.

I use iPhone here – what little I even use that.

I’m the OS/Server guy here – emphasis at the Linux + Syno + QNAP OS / packaging levels.

I would pull those device & server logs.

When you cross compare them, you can track request-reply and find the offending request.

ok I will put a different post in else where to see if someone else has insite on this issue. Thanks again for your help.

Hi I’m also having the same issue. Uploaded my logs here. My error says “'Mapped - Not Published (Not Reachable)” (File removed)
