Plex Remote Working With VPN On

Hello, I use PIA (Private Internet Access) VPN and Plex server Version 4.57.4. In the past when my VPN is turned on, Plex remote wouldn’t connect. All of the sudden it’s working with the VPN on. I haven’t changed any settings, so why would this work?

Thanks

Have you added Plex to the Split Tunnel?
(so Plex can go around the VPN - since it doesn’t need more security on it’s already secure connection):

If not, you should - 'cause a VPN (any) can end your remote access with Plex at the drop of
a hat. <—and it’s not needed anyway.

I don’t have Plex added to the Split Tunnel, but I’ll set it up now.

Thanks for the info.

I think that’s a good idea. It works flawlessly.

As for the reason it’s working now - hard to say.
… and it could stop working at any moment, for a whole bunch of reasons - way too many to try to fix (when you don’t know much about these things - like me).

Add everything Plex to Exceptions. If you open Plex from a Browser address Favorite, you may have to add the used Browser.

I use a non Default Browser for Plex Admin, ( Example: Chrome), for my Local catch up TV accounts and Satellite TV access.

Note: I see my good friend Juice does a similar thing

Chrome doesn’t need protecting at my house (stopped going to N. Korean Goat Porn Sites) - and I can’t go to the bank otherwise - that’s a show stopper…lol
