Im trying to play music on on my Roku tv and for some reason certain music plays in super slow motion. Its so slow is unrecognizable. music plays fine on my PC and on my phone. Is this a known issue? if so is there anyway to fix it? its not just one song either. Its normally entire albums. its not certain containers either cause other songs of the same file type play just fine.
also when its playing itll show the time of a 2 minute song like this…
1:02:34:23 / 2:35
which im assuming its slowed the song so much that itll take forever to listen to the entire thing
Can you share a file that does this?
yeah this is one of the songs.
Maybe a sample rate of 96kHz and 24 bit resolution are too much for the Roku?
I must admit, I don’t know these devices, they are not available in these parts.
My server did analyse the file correctly, though. And it does play correctly in all different Plex clients I have.
Are you using cloud storage?
Is the Roku connected per TOSlink to the amp?
Does the MQA in the Artist meta tag stand for “Master Quality Audio”? (that might be an issue. MQA is doing some weird stuff to the files, in order to keep them “compatible” with non-MQA enabled players)
no im not using cloud storage, it stored on my PC. and there is no toslink. its just playing directly through the ROKU plex app with the regular tv speakers. and i dont know anything about the MQA meta tag.
This isn’t going to help you at all, but … that sample works fine for me.
Direct play on my TCL 55S401 Roku TV. It’s a few years old. Roku SW 9.3.0.
Plex 6.6.8 and Plex (preview) 6.6.9 both work OK.
Internal speakers sound OK. HDMI ARC to better speakers sounds better, whether forced to DD 2.0 or forced to PCM 2.0.
