I’d like to check something:
edit the automatic stream selection settings of the “TV” user.
Enable the automatic stream selection.
Set audio and subtitle language to English.
Set subtitle mode to “manually selected”.
After a reboot (or a Plex user “switch”) of the TV device, does this change anything?

I test it tomorrow and see what happens
I will also test it on a new LG tv that Ive installed Plex app on
@OttoKerner - finally got around to testing - the changes to the user TV account seemed to have worked in stopping auto playing the embedded subtitles - I tested several un-played episodes on different shows and all is good again - Thank you for help
I tested on the LG Tv with the same account and a new user account with default settings - it didn’t play the embedded subtitles automatically, only when I selected them
