Plex says a TV episode is "Unavailable" when it is available and working fine

I’m on a Mac and have followed all the standard instructions. Plex has full disk access permissions. The file has played in the past with no issues. I can go directly to the file on my external HD and play it with no problems (using VLC). Plex is fully updated. I’ve tried restarting everything. I’m completely baffled.

I recall seeing something like that when I replaced a file with a different file for the same movie/episode and rescanned. Does the problem go away if you do Empty Trash on that library?
