Movie are UNAVAILABLE

All my libraries work (TV Shows, Documentaries, etc…) except my movies which indicate as unavailable. I deleted the app and re-downloaded and still facing the same issue. I have read several other posts here but most are for a Windows-based PC, I’m on Mac. Not sure why this just started to happen as all was fine up until a few hours ago. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I also noticed the quality of the playback is awful. I did a side by side comparison using VLC and it’s like night and day…the Plex player is slightly jerky and playing what looks like 240p…

Unavailable usually means it can’t access the files at all, because they’ve been deleted, moved, are on external storage, etc.

Verify that the items are accessible. How much metadata do you have that’s important to you in case you end up uninstalling?

Please create a test case.

  1. Settings - General (lower one) - Show Advanced
  2. Check DEBUG logging (set it on)
  3. Uncheck VERBOSE logging (set this off)
  4. Click SAVE
  5. Reboot the PMS hardware.
  6. Wait 10min for it do tons of things that fill the log.
  7. Start Web client, use https://127.0.0.1:32400/web
  8. Try to browse the Library that’s offline.
  9. Wait 30 seconds
  10. Settings - Troubleshooting - Download Logs
  11. ZIP the entire folder it gives you, and attach it with your next post

I gave up and just deleted everything and started a fresh re-build. It’s now back working. I will say PLEX is an effin pain, but once it’s working it’s great!
