Plex Scanning Folders I've Not Told It To

Server Version#: Version 1.42.2.10156
Player Version#: Safari web interface.

I have a Mac mini with the latest version of MacOS. I have a NAS with six folders in it. Films, Television, Home Movies that sort of thing. Using the correct categories I’ll ask Plex to create the library for Films. It does this but then pulls in video from my Home Movies folder. It used to work perfectly with my previous computer. have things changed that I don’t know about?

Please let me know if I haven’t supplied enough information.

Many thanks,

Vorn

Can you share an example of the folder hierarchy?
From what you describe, it sounds like you might have added a parent folder to one of your libraries which also contains the top-level folder of another library’s content

e.g.

video
Movies <- linked to "Movies" library
... <all the content of your movie library>
Home Movies <- linked to "Home Movies" library
... <all the content of your home movie library>

should be

video
Movies <- linked to "Movies library"
... <all the content of your movie library>
Home Movies <- linked to "Home Movies" library
... <all the content of your home movie library

Thanks for such a quick response.

There are separate folders for each category on the NAS. They are all at root level.

… and each library has only that one folder added to it (... > Manage Library > Edit...Add Folder)?

Yes. That’s the case.

no recursion on the NAS itself (e.g. overlapping of those shares or soft/hard links)?

is the hierarchy with Pixels being the name of my NAS.

None that I know of at all.
