Hi, is there anyone using Plex Server together with Kazoo or the new Linn app? I can select Plex Server in these apps, but when I select Music, nothing happens in Kazoo, and the new Linn app gives me an error message ‘Failed to communicate with your media server’. At the same time, this Plex server works just fine with clients running on OSx and iOS.
Are these DLNA players? If so, make sure DLNA is enabled in the Plex Server settings.
I would hope so. Linn support suggests that it should work OK.
Yes, I have enabled DLNA in the Plex Server settings.
Thanks
I’m sorry, I don’t quite understand your response. Are you saying that you have DLNA enabled and it still doesn’t work?
Also what is the server version for PMS?
That’s correct: DLNA is enabled in PMS (installed on a Synology NAS). The version is 1.16.5.1552.
Thanks.
That version is probably close to six months old at least. Is that the latest version supported by those apps?
I wasn’t aware of that, and thought of waiting for Synology to come with an automatic update. So I’ve now installed the latest version manually and it works!
Thanks again!
Hi, anyone out there who is using Plex Media Server (on Synology NAS) successfully with one of the Linn apps Kazoo or Linn?
I can see the album arts and select songs, but when trying to play a song my Linn shows an hourglass, and in my Linn apps the progess timer of the song stays at 0.00.
On my Synology NAS I’m running PMS version 1.18.5.2305.
When I select MinimServer (also running on my Synology NAS), the Linn apps play the songs OK, so it looks like a miscommunication between PMS and the Linn apps.
This might be something that needs to be addressed by the Linn app developer(s).
Additionally, you could post the PMS logs from when the app fails and maybe someone can take a look and see what might be failing; it’d be even better if you could include the app debug logs if available.
Make sure that debug is ON and verbose is OFF.
