Server Version#: Plex Server Version 1.19.3.2843
Player Version#: Safari Version 13.1 (15609.1.20.111.8)
Hi Good day,
I searched through some articles and did not see anything recent that was relevant so I hope I am not asking something already answered. If so and you can point me to that article I would appreciate it. I have been having a few problems with my Plex Server running on Max OS X Catalina 10.15.4. Problems are as follows:
-
Does not resume from pause sometimes (yes one out of ten times it does!) - It does not have to do with a sleep cycle, I disabled this on my Mac book, I would pause a stream and head downstairs maybe 15-20mins later and it won’t resume. It will only resume the buffered content and then spin the icon as if its trying to reconnect but never does. I need to close the stream and resume it and it plays fine until it gets paused again. I thought the problem disappeared when I moved from the server and client from my iMac to MacBook but that seemed short lived as it returned quickly. I recently removed Nortons Antivirus just to ensure it was not causing any problems. It seems to give problems with a short pause, but other times it works. I really do not understand the behavior.

Sometimes it get stuck and does not play a file. It may start playing the file and then stop, or try to resume, then plays the buffered periods super fast then resume only to stick again. I thought maybe this was a problem with the media file, but the I play the file directly using VLC it does not stick or stop and plays fine for the entire duration.
I enabled verbose logging and did some checks for the “speed” parameter and they were above 4.0 but other times 0.1. Not sure what else I can troubleshoot. I have enjoyed using Plex for many years and would be thankful if I can be pointed in a direction to resolve these issues.
I intended to attach logs but the topic says do not with verbose and I enabled those when testing. I will need to re-generate the logs and will re-attach tomorrow.
