Plex server can only connect to my phone and no other device

I’ve tried multiple laptops, a PS4, and smart TV, they all say that the server is offline or unavailable.
Except for my phone. My phone can stream everything seamlessly.
Why won’t the other devices work?

Do you have the security turned off on your server? Some of those clients don’t allow connecting without a secured connection. Set it to preferred. Or check the client to see if there is an option to allow connecting to an insecure server.

I have set fallback to insecure connections to always and secured connections to preferred, and it’s now letting me use it on one of my laptops, but not the PS4 or TV, as an indirect server, so it’s only letting me stream in very poor quality. Not sure why.

If the PS4 and TV are seeing your server as “indirect”, then something in your network is not placing everything on the same local network. Can you describe your network setup?

At the moment I have my computer connected to the router via Ethernet cable, then using Windows 10 mobile hotspot to share that connection wirelessly to the rest of my devices. I live outside the routers area so I cannot connect my devices directly to it.
I have a feeling that this could be where the problem comes from.

Oh, I thought you were on your local network.

Ok, if you are getting the indirect message away from your network, that means you haven’t configured your remote access properly on your server.

Restart PMS, do nothing for 3 minutes, grab the logs.

My bad, when I said routers area I meant the wi-fi range, the W10 mobile hotspot extends from the local network.

Just to confirm, I set up an access point for wifi in my room this afternoon, everything is streaming now. The issue most likely had to do with the computer hotspot. Thanks for the help.
