Under “edit shared folders video” i have added Read only to the plex account and read/write to my own admin account.
I have also restarted the server after the change.
When i go into the Plex server and try to add a library and point to /volume1/video then it cannot see the rest of my folders in that folder. And that was working fine before the latest update.
The server has been running for years.
I have also tried to go to the file station on the synology and added read only on the folder itself on the plex user. But nothing seems to work. Can someone please help?
I can confirm that i have set the exact same setting as you.
But i still cant see the subfolders of /video. I have check the “apply to this folder, sub-folder and files” checkbox on each folder underneath the /video folder.
The weird thing is that it is only the video folder that the plex server can’t see what sub folders it contains. I can pick all other folders it does not have access to and see the sub folders.
Been having this exact same issue the last 3 weeks since this last update. same thing, followed the guide, permissions set correctly everywhere, and if I go to add a folder to the library, the second I click on my media folder it can’t see anything in it/below it, despite it having the permissions to do so. Incredibly infuriating how this update was handled.
I got it working now by moving all my files to a new folder i just created with same permissions as my screenshots.
I then in the plex server pointed all the folders to the new folder.
I suspect it could have something to do with that i used the default /video folder that is also used by the DS Video app.
