Plex server can't find files in video folder

Hi

My Plex server on my Synology can’t find my files after i upgraded to the latest version.
I have of course followed the guide in the on this link: Plex Media Server security changes for Synology users

Under “edit shared folders video” i have added Read only to the plex account and read/write to my own admin account.
I have also restarted the server after the change.

When i go into the Plex server and try to add a library and point to /volume1/video then it cannot see the rest of my folders in that folder. And that was working fine before the latest update.
The server has been running for years.

I have also tried to go to the file station on the synology and added read only on the folder itself on the plex user. But nothing seems to work. Can someone please help?

In the debug mode i can see some 404 errors.

Would you mind taking a screenshot of control panel for the shares.

Yeah no problem.

Those look fine. Did you restart the whole Synology or just restart the server app?

I restarted the whole Synology server

Please verify the following:

From Control panel:

From File Station:

I can confirm that i have set the exact same setting as you.

But i still cant see the subfolders of /video. I have check the “apply to this folder, sub-folder and files” checkbox on each folder underneath the /video folder.

The weird thing is that it is only the video folder that the plex server can’t see what sub folders it contains. I can pick all other folders it does not have access to and see the sub folders.

Been having this exact same issue the last 3 weeks since this last update. same thing, followed the guide, permissions set correctly everywhere, and if I go to add a folder to the library, the second I click on my media folder it can’t see anything in it/below it, despite it having the permissions to do so. Incredibly infuriating how this update was handled.

Yes it’s frustrating. Great to hear, that i’m not alone with this.

I got it working now by moving all my files to a new folder i just created with same permissions as my screenshots.
I then in the plex server pointed all the folders to the new folder.

I suspect it could have something to do with that i used the default /video folder that is also used by the DS Video app.

Thanks for helping
