Since the last server update (ver. 1.29.1.6316) my Plex server can’t recognise local subtitles.
Things to consider:
Subtitle files (srt) and movie files (mp4, mkv) have the same name and are in the same folder;
Refresh and analyse files don’t solve the problem;
My library scan is set to 30 minutes;
Uploading local subtitles on Plex player changes it format from ANSI to UTF resulting on strange charachters (the language of my subtitles is brazilian portuguese).
The only way to make it work is to do a search on plex player for online subtitles, add it to the movie, remove (clicking on the x near the subtitle file name) then plex recognise my local subtitle.
Before the update it added my subtitles just the moment I put it on the movie folder and refresh file info on the botton right file menu (three dots) on home screen .
That is intended. Plex needs subtitles to be in utf-8. If your files are getting converted improperly, you can try converting yourself manually to get it to utf-8.
Also, are you sure it’s ansi? That should convert to utf-8 without issues.
Can you paste the exact filenames of your subtitle file and the movie file? You say they are named the same, but I thought subtitles needed to have the 2-character language after a dot at the end of the file.
The generated file exceeds the maximum site upload file size. It have 44MB.
“Sorry, the file you are trying to upload is too big (maximum size is 30 MB).”
