Hello,
My Plex Server keeps crashing at random intervals it started about 2 weeks ago. Oddly it has not crashed when media has been playing on devices.
I have attached the log file.
Please attach the crash dump as well - https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201455336-Crash-Logs-Plex-Media-Server - I don’t have any Mac’s so can’t help much but they who can will need that as well (and best if you zip and attach all logs, you never know what is needed).
Hi Peter,
My Crash Reports folder is empty.
Within the Library/Logs folder I have the following files.
On Macs I believe the application diagnostic reports are available in text format
Need to find one that was created at or close to this time Aug 03, 2016 17:51:15.
I am not a Mac user but I think it is generally known by mac users where to look for application diagnostic error reports
You could google it
I saw some reference to ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter
I saw also reference to this ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
Hopefully you find it or someone knowledgeable on OSX will come to the rescue
Actually those 2 locations are mentioned on the support page https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201455336
Thankyou sa2000, I didn’t see those,
Updated crash reports are attached.

Thanks for the crash reports. It is a problem that is being fixed. I can’t tell you which version of Plex Media Server the fix will be in.

The user in that forum topic reported that the crashes stopped after upgrading to El Capitan (10.11)
Thanks, at least it is not my install. I’m currently running Yosemite.
So far so good on El Captain!

Ah, ok I’ll update to 10.11 tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully then that is a quicker fix. For now I disabled update automatically and run scanner at lower priority seems to have stabilized it.

I also posted a detailed description of my PMS crashing problems in this thread:
But wondering if anyone else is having a somewhat newer (for me, over the past few days, no changes to any of my system components) problem with PMS crashing repeatedly? I’m already running El Capitan 10.11.6 and had been, so updating isn’t possible / applicable to my situation.
Any other users with a solution that solved the frequent PMS crashing issue?
Currently running El Capitan 10.11.6, PMS 1.1.0 (although problem started with prior PMS version, and continued after update to current PMS 1.1.0). Crash report attached (I hope, not sure I did it correctly - when I looked in the ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Crash Reports/ location is was empty, so I found my crash report in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ as described in the Plex support page).
Any help greatly appreciated!

No benefit in double posting. It could double up the work and have two people investigating the same problem
You have my answer here
Sorry about the double post - wasn’t sure if I should place the question in a less specific thread (this thread vs the one detailing PMS crashing with a different version and different OSX version). Will avoid with future “help” requests.
