Plex Server doesn't sync everything on drive

I have a 1TB drive that Plex reads okay. I added a 250GB drive, and Plex will not capture everything on the drive. Parts of the same series of videos fail to show up in the library. I moved the videos that it failed to capture to my 1TB drive, and they now show up in my library.

  1. stop and restart Plex server after plugging in an external drive.
  2. take care that external drives always keep the same drive letters, that they had when they were added the first time in Plex. Change a Drive Letter | Microsoft Learn

That’s the first thing I tried. I’m not new to the Plex world, although after years of use, this is the first issue that I haven’t been able to troubleshoot and fix on my own.

Then please share details about your folder structure, the file names, the type of library, agent selection, and which folder you have added to the Plex library.

As Otto notes above going to bet its a folder layout issue or library type issue.

I wish it were something that easy. Something must have been wrong with the drive itself. Replaced it, and everything seems to be functioning normally now.
